About Programme
|
The aim of the Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program is to train technical personnel who assist veterinarians in animal safety and reliability, nutrition, animal health and breeding, animal health services, control and monitoring of these services within the scope of veterinarians' work. To meet the need for qualified and competent personnel in veterinary health in animal clinics.
Our students who complete the 4-semester education period in line with the success criteria determined by our school will be considered graduates. They can transfer to 4-year departments determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) with the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).

History
|
Şırnak University İdil Vocational School Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program started to admit students for the first time in the 2021-2022 academic year and will have its first graduates in the 202022-2023 academic year.

Qualification Awarded
|
The student who successfully completes the program receives the title of technician.
|
Admission Requirements
|
As a result of the exam conducted by the Higher Education Council Assessment, Selection and Placement Center, students who have received sufficient points in the TYT score type and meet special conditions are admitted. Students are also admitted to the program through lateral transfer. These transitions are regulated by a directive and students can transfer between diploma programs of different higher education institutions or diploma programs within the same higher education institution, but within the framework of the pre-announced number and transition conditions.

Higher Grade Transition
|
Students who successfully complete the program can switch to Biology, Veterinary, Animal Production, Agricultural Biotechnology and Animal Science undergraduate programs if they are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by the Higher Education Council Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).

Graduation Requirements
|
In order for students to graduate, they must successfully complete the courses and credit hours (minimum 100 lesson hours or 120 ECTS) specified in the curriculum, and have increased their GPA to at least 60.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Students who successfully complete the program can be appointed as technical personnel if they are successful in the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS) held by the Higher Education Council Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) in the relevant ministries, as well as Cattle Farms, Animal Hospitals, Veterinary Clinics, Feed Factories. They can work in Private Companies, Pharmaceutical Companies, Food Control Centers.

Assessment and Grading
|
Assessment and Evaluation A midterm exam (quiz, homework) and a final exam are given for each course given in the programs. The effect of midterm exams (if any, short-term exams and homework) on the success grade is 40%, and the final exam is 60%. In order to take the term exam, the student must fulfill the attendance requirements written in the regulations. All exams are evaluated over 100 points and the success grade of the students is calculated. Students whose year-end course average is over 60 are considered to have successfully passed the course. Students whose year-end average is below 60 are deemed to have failed the course and take the make-up exam on the date to be specified. The make-up exam is counted as a substitute for the final exam, and the midterm grade is the same.
